In my family’s own wellness journey, I’ve found many quality brands that we’re fans of and are proud to support. So, we started Maura’s market to bring all of these great products and makers together and showcase them on one platform. We wanted to create a place where folks can go knowing they’ll find only quality, well-source goods, identified with care and thoughtful selection
For me, several years ago I had to have surgery due to organs not properly breaking down foods and digesting. That led to my own search for products that relieved symptoms and put me more at ease as a compliment to the work by my doctor.
Only a few years after that, my son received a diagnosis for Celiac disease. I thought this was something we could help him manage. Little did I realize that cross-contamination was such a huge issue for those suffering from Celiacs. Our whole family now shares in his journey. We have almost every kind of flour you can imagine–just nothing with wheat, rye, or barley! While a tough transition, we now have a ton of fun making new recipes and finding new products for all of us to enjoy that doesn’t cause my son pain.
Our daughter’s passion and goal to one day make the women’s national soccer team has helped drive our search for healthy and nutrient-rich products. She may be the most intense, determined young woman out there. She wakes up at six in the morning to workout and mindfully manages her diet to ensure she’s getting the optimal amount of protein for a high-performing athlete.
My husband’s compassion for running and taking care of animals has also guided our well-being journey to a healthier place. Running our own little farm has instilled in us the drive to make sure what we consume is sustainable and healthy.
Striving to become healthier versions of ourselves brings our family together through the ups and downs that we all share. While sometimes we wish things were easier or didn’t happen, I’m thankful that this on-going well-being journey has brought us closer together.
